Hannibal to Green Bay | By: Randy & Little Katie | February 15, 2008

In August of 2007 I had been planing to take my 18 year old daughter Katie to Sturgis for the week, but she wanted to go up to Michigan. We rode up to Green Bay, Wisconsin and crossed over into the UP.  We rode up to Lake Superior and went to Pictured Rock Nat. Lake shore where we was about to walk out on a old ship wreck. We spent the night in a little hotel right on the lake and went for a cool swim before ending our day. We then dropped down and rode along Lake Michigan on Hwy 2 heading for the Mackinaw Bridge and crossing into lower Michigan.

After getting into the lower side Katie picked going down to the Sun Set side of the state. She had all the power to pick where and how we went, and she did a great job at it. She took us to Traverse City where she had to pick up a Harley shirt from the area's dealer before we took off up Hwy 22.  On our way down the coast we stopped at the town of Mainistee. This is a very nice little town that has a boardwalk that runs down to the beach with a lighthouse. We went for a swim in Lake Michigan and stayed on the beach until dark to watch the sunset.

We took a couple of more days dropping down the coast stopping when and where ever Katie wanted to and had a great ride before dropping the hammer to get back to Hannibal Friday night before mom got home. This ride was more than just a great time for the both of us, it built a better bond and Katie will always remember the week we had.

“It’s not the bikes we ride, It’s not the groups we ride with, It’s not the destination.... It’s the journey”.
